Josh Jacobs is again playing at an elite level since joining the Green Bay Packers as a free agent in the offseason. Expected to rebound from a tough 2023, he's provided a dominant presence in the ground game.
Since then, he has had two 100-yard games, both against AFC South teams (Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars). But that might be nothing compared to what he did to the San Francisco 49ers and their supposedly elite defense on Sunday.
In a game that the Packers completely dominated from start to end, Jacobs put up large numbers that will have him and his team talking about wanting to reclaim the NFC North.

Josh Jacobs' stats tonight vs. 49ers
This is what Josh Jacobs was able to do on Sunday night:
- Rushing attempts: 26
- Rushing yards: 106
- Rushing touchdowns: 3
He cracked 100 yards against an NFC team for the first time on Sunday. Despite having one of the best play-stopping middle linebackers in Fred Warner, the 49ers were often helpless to stop him as he charged for first downs and touchdowns.
His offensive line served him well, with only Leonard Floyd getting through the gap and taking down Jordan Love (twice). With Nick Bosa, the other, more accomplished defensive end, out of the game, he had to assume a more prominent role, yet it was not enough.
On the other side, Jacobs was completely uninvolved in the receiving game. But he probably did not need to be when he was that dominant running the ball. None of the Packers wideouts managed to hit even 60 yards. But Love still had a good time in the air, finding Malik Heath and Tucker Kraft for a touchdown each while not throwing a single pick.
But the most consequential player besides the running back must be safety Xavier McKinney. With the 49ers down by 10, he intercepted Brock Purdy's injury stand-in Brandon Allen and returned it 47 yards. From there, the Packers didn't concede another touchdown and outscored the opposition 21-3.
Their next opponents are the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving. Kickoff is at 8:20 p.m. ET/7:20 p.m. CT on NBC.
