Ezekiel Elliott fantasy injury update & outlook for NFL Week 11

Detroit Lions v Dallas Cowboys
Detroit Lions v Dallas Cowboys

Ezekiel Elliott has been one of the most feared offensive weapons in the NFL, and the Dallas Cowboys' bruiser-in-chief takes no prisoners when he is in full form. The man fondly known as Zeek poses a threat in the air and ground for league defenses, and he knows a thing or two about blocking if need be.

However, Elliott picked up a knee injury in the Cowboys' game against the Detroit Lions three weeks ago. This injury has kept him inactive for the past two game weeks, and unfortunately, he has still been unable to shake off the injury. So much so that he is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 8-1 Minnesota Vikings.

As such, Elliott is listed as questionable for tomorrow's matchup, essentially ensuring that Tony Pollard continues as the Cowboys' starting running back in his absence.

Ezekiel Elliott's fantasy outlook

Since being drafted 4th by the Dallas Cowboys out of Ohio State University, Ezekiel Elliott has been a favorite for fantasy team owners around the league due to his intangibles and running back nous. A fit Ezekiel Elliott is as good as anyone in the backfield, even though, over the years, a healthy Elliott has become more or less a rarity.

His fantasy outlook for this season isn't dire in the slightest, as the Dallas Cowboys' veteran is ranked 30th in his position, is rostered by 92.2% of fantasy owners, and is doing pretty great for someone sharing the ball with a top positional teammate in Tony Pollard.

Should you trade Ezekiel Elliott?

Elliott is a stud at running back, but recent happenings show that if chance, it will be a good idea to trade away Elliott for a fitter and more mobile running back to man your fantasy team. Elliott might be only 27 years old, but the wear and tear the former Pro Bowler has endured is right up there with the Frank Gores and Bo Jacksons in the world.

Suppose you are looking to trade away Elliott. In that case, you could trade in similar-ranking players like Najee Harris of the Pittsburgh Steelers, D'Onta Foreman of the Arizona Cardinals, or even Kareem Hunt of the Cleveland Browns.

Ezekiel Elliott's Timeline

Ezekiel Elliott is one of the premier running backs of his era, and the Dallas Cowboys stud has been holding it down for the new-age Jerry Jones Cowboys. Drafted as an exciting yet combustible prospect out of Ohio State University, Zeke has proved doubters wrong throughout his career.

The Cowboys' number 21 has amassed a stat line of 443 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, and an average of 4.1 yards per carry on 109 rushes in seven games in the 2022 NFL season.

These days Elliott is competing with Tony Pollard for the Dallas Cowboys' starting running back job, which makes the Cowboys one of the most feared backfields in the league.
