Ezekiel Elliott Week 8 fantasy outlook: Is he playing this week?

Detroit Lions v Dallas Cowboys
Is Ezekiel Elliott available for his team in Week 8?

Due to a Grade 2 right MCL sprain and thigh bruise, Ezekiel Elliott is reportedly anticipated to be out for a while. However, coach Mike McCarthy would still not completely rule him out, stating that the 27-year-old still has a chance of playing on Sunday provided he can train on Saturday.

"He is faring better than we had anticipated at the beginning of the week. He might be able to play if he works out tomorrow."

Tony Pollard is likely to gain from more backfield chances whether Elliott is out or playing while limited.

Week 7 saw Ezekiel Elliott play his finest game of the season so far, ending the match as RB10 with 17.7 points in half-PPR leagues. Elliot twice found the end zone, but he injured his knee, casting doubt on his availability for Week 8.

Fantasy owners are debating if Elliott will play in the Dallas Cowboys matchup against the Chicago Bears, and whether or not to start him because Tony Pollard has already started to overtake his output.

According to some reports, Ezekiel Elliott will not play against the Bears on Sunday. Jerry Jones also suggested this.

"It was entirely related to how we were performing this weekend because of the upcoming bye," according to Jones. "If we hadn't had the bye, I'm not sure we would have handled things this way."

Although Elliott has not been officially ruled out, it seems inevitable. In his absence, Tony Pollard will be the RB1 play.

Should you sell Ezekiel Elliott?

In the last game, Ezekiel Elliott performed as predicted. Despite facing the weakest run defense in the league, he managed to sprint 15 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns while receiving no targets.

Elliott and Tony Pollard have shared backfield responsibilities almost evenly over the past two weeks. In the last match, we witnessed a spectacular event. Zeke was outsnapped by Pollard.

Elliott also didn't miss any time following a knee shot that appeared to be much more serious at first. He is the ideal player to be sold high this week since he is a two-down TD-dependent grinder back who might not even be his team's best rusher.

Tony Pollard is Dallas' reasonably skilled backup running back. Pollard has recorded an average of 107.6 total yards per game throughout the course of his career in the seven regular-season games in which he has had 15 or more touches.

In his Week 8 showdown against the Bears defensive line, which has given up the fourth-most running yards per game this year, Pollard can be seen as a high-end RB1.
