As far as career days go, Bengals running back Joe Mixon had a serious one at Paul Brown Stadium against Carolina. The 26-year-old running back was giving the Panthers all kinds of problems on Sunday as they had no answer to him.
Mixon had four total touchdowns at halftime and added to his total in the second half. His five total touchdowns was a near-record in the NFL with six touchdowns by Saints running back Alvin Kamara and Browns player Dub Jones in 1951 as the only two that have six.
Once Mixon had scored his fifth touchdown, it got many thinking hecould break the NFL record as he was torching the Panthers defense. It led to one fan thinking that the running back was going to break it.

Mixon and Bengals torch sorry Panthers

If fans were hoping to see a close game or even a potential upset at Paul Brown Stadium, those hopes were dashed halfway through the second quarter.
After going up 7-0 early on in the first quarter, the Bengals then put the foot down in the second, putting up 28 points to lead 35-0 at half-time. Game over.
Such was the Bengals' dominance, quarterback Joe Burrow got an early shower as he was taken out with time remaining.
As mentioned above, Mixon was the destroyer on Sunday. He totaled 153 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries. If that wasn't enough, the running back was a feature in the pass game as well.
He caught four passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. Talk about a one-man show.
Carolina simply had no answer to the Bengals' offense as they ended up conceding 42 points. They did manage to score 21 of their own, with 14 coming in the fourth quarter as the Bengals took their foot off the gas.
Cincinatti now moves to 5-4 on the season as they go above .500, while the Panthers, who benched Phillip Walker (3/10 for nine yards and two interceptions), fall to 2-7.
Regardless of anything that happens across the rest on Sunday, the running back and his five total touchdowns will be at the top of everyone's mind.
