#2 Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs, Quarterback):
A year removed from being selected 10th overall in the 2017 NFL draft, Patrick Mahomes has finally been handed the reins to run the Chiefs' offence. He was mostly a part of the bench last season as he watched and learned from veteran QB Alex Smith who had a career year in 2017.
Now with Alex Smith off to Washington, Patrick Mahomes has his work cut out in one of the most demanding leagues in the world but he should thank his stars as the Chiefs are loaded with playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. They have the second-best tight end in the NFL in Travis Kelce, 2 quality speed demons in Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins at the Wide Receiver position and to top it off they also have 2017 rushing champion Kareem Hunt on their side.

Apart from this Mahomes also has QB kingmaker Andy Reid alongside him who has the innate ability to bring the best out of quarterbacks, his most recent venture was with QB Alex Smith who finished with a career-high 4,397 yards and 27 TDs.
Mahomes has the ability and arm strength to produce QB1 numbers this season, with a strong support cast and coaching staff, he can be backed to hit 4000+ yards with nearly 30 TDs
