Running backs are some of the most important NFL players during each Fantasy Football season. Many of them can put up high fantasy scores in the right matchups. Those same running backs are also in danger of being major busts for weeks when facing a challenging situation.
The polarizing nature of the position makes it extremely important for fantasy managers to closely analyze their running backs each week of the Fantasy Football season. Paying attention to direct weekly matchups and recent fantasy output, along with many other factors, can be a helpful strategy. This may help optimize the position by determining which running backs to target each week.

Devin Singletary is quietly having a solid 2022 Fantasy Football season. He currently ranks inside the top 25 running backs in PPR points per game this year. He has established himself as the featured running back next to quarterback Josh Allen in the Buffalo Bills' high-powered offense.
Singletary is in an ideal situation in Week 11 to continue his strong fantasy output this season. The Cleveland Browns allow the second-most fantasy points per game to running backs, trailing only the Houston Texans.
Antonio Gibson - Washington Commanders vs. Houston Texans
The Houston Texans are the only NFL team allowing more than 30 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. This alone makes Antonio Gibson a solid option for the starting lineup in Fantasy Football in Week 11.
Gibson has also been a consistent contributor to fantasy teams during the 2022 season, despite sharing the backfield with Brian Robinson Jr. He has finished inside the top 30 running backs in eight of his ten games so far, including five finishes inside the top 15 running backs.
Elijah Mitchell - San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals
Elijah Mitchell returned for the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10 for the first time since suffering an injury in Week 1. He is no longer the featured running back with Christian McCaffrey on their roster. This didn't stop him from turning in a solid performance.
Mitchell received an impressive 18 carries for 89 yards in his return. This suggests that he and McCaffrey will share the workload in the 49ers' backfield. This is good news for Mitchell in Week 11, as the Arizona Cardinals rank in the bottom 12 in fantasy points allowed per game to running backs.
NFL Week 11 Fantasy Football Running Backs: Sit 'Em
Najee Harris - Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Najee Harris has been one of the biggest disappointments during the 2022 Fantasy Football season. Despite being selected in the top five of many fantasy drafts, he currently ranks just 25th among running backs in total fantasy points this year.
Harris has also recently lost some of the backfield work for the Steelers to Jaylen Warren. His reduced workload and difficult matchups in Week 11 make him one to avoid in Fantasy Football. The Cincinnati Bengals rank among the top ten in limiting fantasy points to opposing running backs.
James Robinson - New York Jets vs. New England Patriots
James Robinson played out of a shared backfield with Travis Etienne for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was recently traded to the New York Jets, where he will once again share a backfield, this time with Michael Carter.
Robinson and Carter will apparently split all of the touches moving forward, with Carter appearing to receive a slight advantage. This makes Robinson a risky running back option in Fantasy Football in Week 11. This is even more true against the New England Patriots. They allow the second-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs.
D'Andre Swift - Detroit Lions vs. New York Giants
D'Andre Swift has struggled to consistently produce during the 2022 Fantasy Football season. While part of the reason is due to injuries, he has also lost a large portion of backfield work to Jamaal Williams. Over the last three weeks, Williams has recorded 53 touches, while Swift has only received 22.
While Swift possesses weekly fantasy upside due to his dynamic skillset, he's become difficult to trust in the starting lineup. This was further complicated by his Week 11 matchup. The New York Giants allow the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs.
