Tight ends are in the most difficult NFL position to navigate in Fantasy Football. With the exception of a few elite options, the vast majority of players in this position are unreliable on a weekly basis. This has made streaming tight ends a popular strategy. Managers can start different tight ends in favorable situations each week in an attempt to optimize their position.
Picking the right tight end will be more important than ever in Week 17 of the 2022 Fantasy Football season. Fantasy playoffs are well underway in almost every league, while the championship game takes place this week in most leagues as well. Lineup decisions this week could be the difference between winning a league title and coming up just short.
NFL Week 17 Fantasy Football Tight Ends: Start 'Em

Evan Engram has been one of the best overall tight ends over the last month of the 2022 NFL season. He has finished among the top seven fantasy tight ends in each of the last four weeks, including a TE1 finish in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans. He is a high-floor option in Fantasy Football as he appears to be a preferred target for Trevor Lawrence.
Cole Kmet - Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions
Cole Kmet ranks among the top 12 tight ends in total fantasy points scored this year. The last time he faced off against the Detroit Lions, he finished as TE1 in Week 10. He'll play against them again in Week 17, and there's good reason to believe Justin Fields will target him often. The Lions allow the sixth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends.
Tyler Conklin - New York Jets vs. Seattle Seahawks
Tyler Conklin is an excellent streaming option in Week 17 of the 2022 Fantasy Football season. Mike White is returning as the starting quarterback, replacing Zach Wilson, so the entire New York Jets offense should get a boost. This is great news for Conklin, especially against the Seattle Seahawks. They allow the most fantasy points per game to tight ends.
NFL Week 17 Fantasy Football Tight Ends: Sit 'Em
Logan Thomas - Washington Commanders vs. Cleveland Browns
Logan Thomas has struggled to find consistency during the 2022 Fantasy Football season. He finished among the top 15 tight ends just three times. While Carson Wentz should provide an offensive boost upon his return in Week 17, Thomas is still difficult to trust. The Cleveland Browns allow the eighth-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends, further increasing Thomas' risk in Fantasy Football.
David Njoku - Cleveland Browns vs. Washington Commanders
David Njoku has been a boom-or-bust tight end during the 2022 Fantasy Football season. He finished among the top eight tight ends five times, while also finishing outside the top 25 five times. The Washington Commanders rank sixth against fantasy tight ends this year, so Njoku is better off avoided in Week 17.
Hayden Hurst - Cincinnati Bengals vs. Buffalo Bills
Hayden Hurst is expected to return from an injury in Week 17, but will be a risky streaming option. He will have a ton of competition for targets from Joe Burrow, as all of the Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers and running backs are healthy and ready to play. The Buffalo Bills also allow the second-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends.
