It has proven to be much more favorable for Fantasy Football managers to choose a weekly kicker based on their matchup, rather than starting the same mediocre option every game.

Choosing the right kicker is often a combination of the kicker's efficiency and opportunity. It's important to choose kickers that convert at a high percentage, while also facing an NFL defense that may allow their offense plenty of chances to score points. This formula dictates the potential kickers to target in Week 9 of the 2022 Fantasy Football season.

Younghoe Koo - Atlanta Falcons vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Younghoe Koo has only missed one kick while playing at home during the entire 2022 NFL season. It happened all the way back in Week 1. He's also perfect on 20 extra-point attempts this year. Koo is playing at home in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers in a potentially high-scoring game, making him an attractive Fantasy Football kicker this week.

Mason Crosby - Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions

The Green Bay Packers are in one of the most ideal situations for all of their players to score fanatsy points in Week 9. The Detroit Lions are the only NFL team allowing more than 30 points per game this season, so Aaron Rodgers should create plenty of scoring opportunities for the Packers. This also means Mason Crosby could be busy this week.

Tyler Bass - Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

Tyler Bass leads the NFL with 24 extra-point attempts this season, and he has converted on all of them. Josh Allen is currently the front-runner for the NFL MVP award this season as he continues to lead the Buffalo Bills' dominant offense. This creates a ton of opportunities for Bass to put points on the board in Fantasy Football.

Week 9 Fantasy Football Kickers: Sit 'Em

Matt Gay - Los Angeles Rams vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Matt Gay has been efficient this season, missing just one field goal attempt and coverting on all of his extra-point attempts. The issue is that he isn't getting enough opportunities as the Los Angeles Rams continue to struggle on offense. He ranks outside the top in total kicking attempts this season. This is unlikely to improve when Matthew Stafford faces a challenging Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense.

Eddy Pineiro - Carolina Panthers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Eddy Pineiro had a disastrous showing during Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season. He had two opportunities at the game-winning kick against the Atlanta Falcons, but missed both of them. This resulted in Pineiro finishing outside of the top ten Fantasy Football kickers for the fifth consecutive week. He is an unreliable kicker in Fantasy Football this year.

Greg Joseph - Minnesota Vikings vs. Washington Commanders

Greg Joseph has been one of the most unreliable kickers during the 2022 NFL season. He leads the NFL with five missed field goals and with three missed extra-point attempts. The Minnesota Vikings have a high-powered offense and are in a favorable matchup, but that doesn't help Joseph if he continues to miss opportunities regularly.
