Freiermuth is already dealing with a concussion and is questionable for Week 16. As a heavily TD-dependent TE, the rookie has been a solid spot start for fantasy managers all season. For Week 16, in a tough matchup with the Chiefs, fantasy managers should make plans to do without Freiermuth. If he does play, it’s too much of a risk to roster the TE who needs to score a TD to be fantasy relevant. If fantasy managers have better options, they can target someone like Zach Ertz, if available on the waiver wire.
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants
Dallas Goedert and the Eagles still have to play the Washington Football Team on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. That being said, Goedert projects to be a better TE option when a better passer like Gardner Minshew is behind center, as evidenced by his Week 13 explosion against the New York Jets for 105 yards and 2 touchdown catches. If Jalen Hurts is expected to play on Tuesday (he is), then Goedert’s fantasy outlook takes a big hit. With two weeks left in the fantasy playoffs, managers should look elsewhere for TE options.
Dalton Schultz, Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Football Team
Schutlz had a big fantasy game against the New York Giants, but he was the sole beneficiary of a TD pass in a game where CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper, and Michael Gallup put up subpar stats. The Cowboys offense as a whole is not performing up to their expected standards so fantasy managers should not expect Schultz to repeat this performance next week against the Football Team. Recently, in Week 14 against Washington, Schultz only caught 1 pass for 4 yards. The return of Michael Gallup has consistently eaten into Schultz’s target share. Fantasy managers would be wise to find other options at TE for Week 16.
