Each week of the fantasy football season brings a brand new set of situations for many players. A player's overall value can drastically change from one week to the next based on their recent performances and relevant injuries around them. This scenario will have an impact on many wide receivers ahead of Week 2, producing the following list of the best starts and sits for fantasy lineups.
Fantasy Football Week 2 Start 'Em picks for WRs
With the exception of a few elite fantasy football wide receivers who must be started every week, most players should only be used in weekly lineups in the right situations. Analyzing their recent performances and weekly matchups are among the most important factors to consider when making lineup decisions. Sportskeeda's Who Should I Start tool helps make that process easier.

Keenan Allen and Stefon Diggs are among the wide receivers who have seen their value significantly increase for Week 2. Both of them entered the season with questionable outlooks after joining new teams with crowded offenses. They both responded by proving they are still reliable in fantasy football.
Allen surprisingly led the Chicago Bears with 11 targets last week, despite being reportedly limited by an injury. His output could increase even more if his health improves, especially with Rome Odunze suffering an injury of his own. Diggs also excelled in his first game with the Houston Texans, recording six receptions and two touchdowns.
Jameson Williams was one of the biggest breakout players in Week 1, finishing as the overall WR5. He has gone from a bench stash in most leagues to begin the season to a high-upside starter this week as a new weapon this year for the Detroit Lions.

Week 2 Fantasy Football Sit 'Em picks for WRs
Many wide receivers had disappointing performances in their first game of the 2024 fantasy football season. DeAndre Hopkins is surely one of them, as he played in just 27% of the snaps for the Tennessee Titans and recorded just one reception. He is reportedly dealing with a knee injury, so until he can prove he is back to full strength, he should be benched in fantasy lineups.
Terry McLaurin is another player expected to fade in Week 2 after his weak output in his first game with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. His two receptions for 17 yards make him an unattractive target for lineups this week.
Here's who joins them on the list of wide receivers to avoid:
