We're three weeks into the NFL regular season, and the fantasy football landscape is getting a little more straightforward with a larger sample size to work with. With more data to analyze each week, we'll get a clearer picture of which pass defenses to target to help with tough decisions in our flex spots. 1] Marvin Harrison Jr. vs Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels looks fantastic. The Washington franchise finally got a quarterback for the future, but it has some distance to go on the defensive side of the ball. The worst pass defense in the league is coming to the desert this weekend, which looks promising for the NFL's new dynamic duo in Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr.
Washington's defense owns the worst Expected Points Added at 39.60 to receivers and third-most receiving yards at 791 this season. The Commanders have allowed the most touchdowns to wideouts (9), with at least two receiving touchdowns each game. We recommended Ja'Marr Chase as our top receiver in Week 3, and he delivered six receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns against the Commanders.
Washington head coach Dan Quinn has brought his blitz-happy ways to D.C. without the results that made him a candidate for another coaching job. The Commanders have blitzed 37% of the defensive snaps this season, which is the seventh-most, but have only generated a pressure rate of 24% — good for 24th through three games. By selling out on getting to the quarterback, the Commanders have left the secondary vulnerable when it doesn't get home.
Opposing quarterbacks Baker Mayfield, Daniel Jones, and Joe Burrow have combined for a 71.9% completion percentage through three games. The Commanders' secondary has not picked off a pass all season and has only recorded nine pass breakups in 87 pass attempts. Will Washington trend toward a high blitz rate against an elusive Murray on Sunday? Murray had faced the second-least blitz rate through three games, which had led to the second-best time-to-throw rate at 2.9 seconds.
Unsurprisingly, defenses are not putting pressure on Murray as he managed a pressure rate of 19.6 (31st) and has only been hit on 10.9% of his dropbacks. Murray is fourth in fantasy points per game at 19.6, while Harrison Jr. has had three touchdowns in his last two games. The rookie is second in red zone targets for all pass catchers and should enjoy a colossal night as long as Murray has time to operate against a weak pass defense.

2] DJ Moore vs. Los Angeles Rams
It's been rough for rookie Caleb Williams early on, but he showed the fantasy community why the Bears used the top pick on him last April. Williams had his best day as a pro last week with 33 completions, 363 passing yards and two touchdowns. His two interceptions were not ideal, but it's all part of the growing pains of a young quarterback learning on the job.
Fortunately for the Bears offense, the Los Angeles Rams will bring their bottom-ranked pass defense to the Midway this weekend. Los Angeles owns the second-worst Expected Points Added percentage at 20.07 this season and the 22nd-worst pressure rate at 26.5%. The Rams have the league-worst 2.9 seconds time-to-throw and the third-worst time-to-pressure rate at 3.0 seconds this season. After three games, Los Angeles has allowed the second-most points to fantasy quarterbacks.
The Rams have struggled to contain opposing wideouts this season without a consistent pass rush. Jameson Williams had his best game of the season on opening night with five catches, 121 yards, and touchdowns against the Rams. The following week, Marvin Harrison Jr. broke out with four catches, 130 yards, and two touchdowns in Week 2. San Francisco's Jauan Jennings did his best Jerry Rice impression last week with 11 receptions for 175 yards and three touchdowns.
Free agent signing Tre'Davious White has struggled in coverage this season and will get DJ Moore for most of the game on Sunday.

3] Jaxon Smith-Njigba vs Detroit Lions
Before the fantasy season started, you might've had second thoughts about starting your fantasy receivers against this Lions defense. Surprisingly, for the third consecutive game, Detroit has given up a receiving touchdown and owns a 9.36 Expected Points Added to wideouts.
The Lions have been exposed by premier slot receivers this season, with Los Angeles' Cooper Kupp and Tampa Bay's Chris Godwin having huge days at Detroit's expense. On opening night, Kupp finished with 14 catches for 110 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Godwin followed up that performance with seven catches for 117 yards and a touchdown in Week 2.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba has worked in the slot 69% of the offensive snaps for Seattle this season and could be in line for another big day on Monday Night Football. Smith-Njigba has had a tough start this year, with two games under 40 receiving yards and one with 12 catches, 117 receiving yards, and no touchdowns. But if you were on the fence with your flex spot this week, you could do worse than Smith-Njigba and roll the dice in case he explodes for another huge fantasy day in a decent matchup.
