Even though Tom Brady, a quarterback who has won an unprecedented seven Super Bowls, five Super Bowl MVP honors, and three NFL MVP awards, is loved by many, he is despised by just as many supporters.

Learn why and what people find so offensive about Tom Brady. Check to see if the critics are justified.

#1 - Questionable decisions off the field

Off the field, Tom Brady has made some controversial choices. Before stating that he would resume playing, he declared his retirement following the 2021 NFL season. People speculated if this move damaged his marriage to Gisele Bündchen, with whom he had been wed since 2009. During Brady's offseason, they both employed divorce attorneys and ended up making their divorce public.

Brady's bond with his children is also frequently called into question because he has been seen kissing them on the lips at countless events, which many people think is odd.

#2 - Drew Bledsoe

The manner Tom Brady developed into the starter at quarterback for the New England Patriots, replacing an injured Drew Bledsoe and securing (or snatching, based on your perspective) the position, is noteworthy and left some fans with negative opinions of Brady from Day One.

#3 - Tom Brady is a cheater

Brady was undoubtedly a massive part of the Patriots' dominance, but he will forever be associated with the NFL's two significant controversies: SpyGate and DeflateGate.

What loomed below the cover that we were unaware of if these were the occurrences that were discovered? People have a few queries when considering Brady to be a cheater.

While it may seem unjust to single out a player for a group's transgressions, when you assume the role of the group's public face, you accept both its praise and its detractors. When a team is criticized for breaching regulations, it makes sense for the quarterback to take the brunt of the blame, as they generally receive so many compliments and criticism.

#4 - The FBI had to find his stolen jerseys

The FBI intervened after Brady's jersey from Super Bowl LI vanished, per The New York Times. According to a dressing room video, a daily newspaper reporter from Mexico City stole Brady's jersey and another from Super Bowl XLIX. As Patriots president Robert Kraft compared the jerseys to valuable works of art, mouths dropped open. Brady's detractors thought he was too self-centered and that the extensive investigation into his jersey was excessive.

#5 - Media bias

Politics and athletics have both always been subject to passionate opinions and biases, but politics differ in how you are able to locate a news source that supports your viewpoints. There isn't a single reputable media organization that doesn't praise Brady after practically every victory. When it occurs, whether you support the Buccaneers or the Patriots, you still grin with satisfaction. If you're not, this flattery has long since gone out of style.
