The Detroit Lions' 2024/25 season ended with a loss in the NFC divisional round game against the Washington Commanders. This is a significant disappointment after the Lions ended the regular season with a 15-2 record.

The Lions must now focus on retooling in the offseason to make another deep playoff push in the upcoming season. They have a staggering 33 players who could test free agency.

Full list of Detroit Lions free agents in 2025

1. Carlton Davis, Cornerback

Carlton Davis joined the Detroit Lions after a six-year stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Davis was an important piece on the defense and started 13 games in the regular season. He recorded 42 tackles and two interceptions.

Expect the Lions to attempt to renew him in free agency due to his instant impact on the side.

2. Dan Skipper, Offensive Tackle

Dan Skipper is a beloved member of the Detroit Lions offensive line. He has been with the Lions since the start of the 2017 season.

The Lions will likely renew Skipper's contract in the offseason. However, due to salary cap concerns, both parties will need to reach a concession.

3. Derrick Barnes, Linebacker

Derrick Barnes is a rotational part of the Lions defense. He's played his entire career with the Lions and is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Barnes dealt with injury issues in 2024, and it's anyone's guess whether the Lions decide to re-sign him or dip into the draft to replace his production.

4. Khalil Dorsey, Cornerback

Khalil Dorsey is a rotational cornerback for the Lions, and he's set to enter free agency. The Lions will either re-sign him on a team-friendly deal or let him walk.

5. Teddy Bridgewater, Quarterback

Teddy Bridgewater spent most of the 2024 season coaching his alma mater, Miami Northwestern High School. He led the team to a Class 3A Florida High School state title and decided to return to the NFL.

The Lions signed him for the playoffs to provide veteran leadership, and he got some reps against the Washington Commanders. Bridgewater proved he still had it, and the Lions could re-sign him as insurance for Jared Goff.
