After a poor 5-12 record in 2024, the New Orleans Saints will have many important decisions to make during the 2025 offseason. The team's primary big decision is selecting a coach, and it is currently conducting a thorough coaching search, interviewing a number of candidates from a range of experiences.

After the franchise selects its new coach and assembles its staff, it will focus on setting up the roster.

Several Saints players, including both seasoned veterans and up-and-comers, will be available for free agency this coming offseason. Here’s a look at all New Orleans Saints players whose contracts are scheduled to expire this offseason.

New Orleans Saints' impending free agents (selected players)

#1 - Tight end Juwan Johnson (28)

Juwan Johnson is not regarded as a top tight end despite his occasional brilliance with the Saints. His future is still up in the air following an uneven 2024 season in which he had some great performances but also battled with consistency.

New Orleans must choose whether to keep the seasoned tight end at a possibly reduced cost or look at other possibilities for positional improvement in light of the potential for roster reorganizations and a coaching change.

#2 - Defensive end Chase Young (25)

Although Chase Brown has been a good defensive end in his NFL career, he has not lived up to the hype following his 2020 NFL draft selection.

However, Young is still only 25, and he has a lot of potential, some of which he demonstrated this season by being productive in several important metrics. Keeping Young, who contributed at a higher-than-average level in 2024, is certainly feasible for a Saints team that has had a terrible time finding consistency at the defensive end position.

#3 - Cornerback Paulson Adebo (25)

Paulson Adebo had an exceptionally successful start to the 2024 season before the Saints' season-long injury plague caught up with him. In October, he broke his femur, which prevented him from playing the rest of the year.

Adebo would have loved the opportunity to prove to the league that he is a capable No. 1 outside cornerback every week after CB Marshon Lattimore was traded to the Washington Commanders, but the injury ended his season too soon.

#4 - Safety Will Harris (29)

Prioritizing the acquisition of a younger, more energetic and safer safety in preparation for the 2025 season is a possibility for the New Orleans Saints.

Although it makes sense, Harris should still be retained for a longer period of time, as his steady play in the last weeks of the season was crucial in keeping this defense from completely imploding.

#5 - Guard Lucas Patrick (31)

Lucas Patrick had a significant impact on the Saints’ offense early in the season, particularly in the first two weeks. However, his impact rapidly diminished, primarily as a result of injuries.

The team had to put together a wide variety of offensive line combos during the season because Patrick was limited to playing in just 10 games due to injuries.

Although Patrick is still effective when he stays on the field, the Saints cannot rely on him to remain healthy all the time. The team likely won't bring him back in 2025 as a result.
