Eugene Cyril Smith III, popularly known as Geno Smith is an American football quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks as of the 2024 NFL season. The New York Jets selected him with the 39th overall pick in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Smith has also played for the New York Giants, and Los Angeles Chargers, and has been with the Seahawks since 2019. As of Week 6 of the 2024 season, he has recorded 90 touchdowns, 63 interceptions, and 16,601 passing yards in his NFL career. He was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2022 and has earned Pro Bowl honors twice, in 2022 and 2023.
Before entering the NFL, Smith played football for the West Virginia Mountaineers, representing West Virginia University at the collegiate level. According to Sports Reference, he recorded a total of 11,662 passing yards, 98 touchdowns, and 98 interceptions.
