Geno Smith, a former second-round pick from the 2013 NFL draft was a journeyman for most of his career after losing the starting job with New York Jets, before getting a breakthrough to be a starter in Seattle following Russell Wilson’s trade in 2022. The former 39th overall pick was benched in his second season with New York and got gradually moved down the depth chart due to various injuries and on-field struggles.
