George Pickens is an American football wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers as of the 2024 NFL season. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him as the 52nd overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Pickens attended Hoover High School in Alabama where he played in the Under Armour All-American Game in 2019. He recorded 69 receptions for 1,368 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior. Before attending the University of Georgia for collegiate football, Pickens committed to Auburn University. Pickens received immediate playing time during his rookie year at Georgia. During his junior year, he suffered a torn ACL. In the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship game, Pickens made an important 52-yard reception in Georgia's win over Alabama. Pickens' collegiate tenure saw him amass more than 1,300 receiving yards in 3 years, after which he declared for the 2022 NFL draft. Pickens scored his first professional touchdown in Week 7. Pickens finished the 2022 season with four receiving touchdowns and 52 receptions for 801 yards. After starting 16 games in 2023, Pickens finished his sophomore campaign with 63 receptions for 1,140 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games.
