George Pickens vs Tee Higgins: Who should I start for Week 13 Fantasy Football?

George Pickens and Tee Higgins are two wide receivers on differing career paths. One is a burgeoning star, hitting a thousand yards for the first time as a sophomore and looking poised to do so again multiple times in the future. The other was once a fairly prolific player in his own right with multiple thousand-yarders but has fallen on hard times as of late.

But as their teams clash tomorrow, it is time to determine who is a better option to start on a fantasy football team.

Currently ranking as one of Sportskeeda's top five fantasy football wideouts, George Pickens has been a consistent fantasy scorer with 139 points. His worst outing so far has been 4.9 at the Denver Broncos, and even then the Pittsburgh Steelers won that game thanks to Justin Fields' rushing touchdown.

The Cincinnati Bengals are coming off their bye week, but before that, they had been averaging 38.40 fantasy points against his position - just three places above the bottom quarter. These struggles have persisted despite the presence of top safety Geno Stone.

The diminution of Tee Higgins' stock needs no introduction. When the 2020 season ended, he was touted as a potential replacement for AJ Green as the Bengals' top wideout. But then, Ja'Marr Chase exploded and took the mantle.

Still, he did well enough to establish himself as the WR2, hitting 1,000 yards in 2021 and 2022 as the team reached the AFC Championship Game. But injuries slowed him down in 2023, and now he finds himself outshone by sophomore Andrei Iosivas.

Currently sitting at WR13 with 110.9 points (and just one single-digit performance), he projects to have a hard time against the Steelers' seventh-ranked anti-WR defense, which is currently allowing an average of 17.80 fantasy points against the position thanks to a deep secondary that boasts monstrously dominators like Joey Porter Jr., DeShon Elliott, and Minkah Fitzpatrick.

There is no doubt for the Sportskeeda Start/Sit Tool here: Pickens is the better wide receiver to bring on board one's fantasy squad.

After two seasons with subpar quarterbacks like Kenny Pickett, he has found his stride with an elite player in Russell Wilson and that dominance looks only set to continue on Sunday against a secondary that has not been the best at preventing the catch.
