The Packers took on the Eagles to make it the second straight year that the seventh-seeded Green Bay took on an NFC East team. Last year, Jordan Love won his first playoff game away to Dallas against the Cowboys but this was a different challenge altogether.
Philadelphia came into this game as the second seed after having fought for the overall lead in the NFC all year. They have Saquon Barkley, arguably the best running back in the league right now. The Eagles have recent positive playoff experience too, having made the Super Bowl the year before last.
However, the Packers have been a sturdy team throughout the season too. Their only loss, except the final week loss to the Bears, came against fellow playoff teams. They lost to the Vikings and Lions twice and they started 2024 with a loss to today's opponents. They needed everything to fall their way to win this knockout game on the road and this is how the action went down.

Packers vs. Eagles game summary
The game began in the worst way possible for the visiting Packers team. Keisean Nixon fumbled the ball on the kickoff return and the Eagles recovered it. The call stood despite a booth review and it gave the home team a great field position. Saquon Barkley went on a big run to establish his intent for the game and Jalen Hurts threw the opening touchdown to Jahan Dotson to give Philadelphia a 7-0 lead on their first possession.
After a wild start, the defenses established themselves as each team forced the other to punt on consecutive possessions. However, the Eagles offense came alive on their next drive, after their defense had coerced the Packers into another punt, and scored a field goal to take a 10-0 lead. With the pressure rising on Green Bay, Jordan Love tried to take risks on the following possession, only to be intercepted.
Darius Slay picked off the visiting quarterback, but his offense could not take advantage as they were forced to punt on their succeeding drive. It could have proved costly as the Packers went down the field on their next possession, with a couple of short first-down conversions by Tucker Kraft directly from the snap. But Brandon McManus missed a field goal attempt to keep Green Bay scoreless.
The Packers' defense did their job, though, forcing the Eagles to punt on the following drive. However, Jordan Love threw a costly interception in the two-minute warning to set up the Eagles in a good possession. Green Bay needed their defensive unit to come up trumps again and did so to keep their team in this match. The teams went into the break with the home team leading 10-0.
The second half began with the Eagles receiver but the Packers defense carried off from where they left off and forced the home team to punt. They then went down the field to score a field goal to open the scoring and make it 10-3. It came at a cost, though, as Romeo Doubs left the field to be evaluated for a concussion.
If Green Bay thought this signaled a change in momentum, they were sadly mistaken, though. Jalen Hurts led a methodical possession that culminated with a brutal Dallas Goedert run into the endzone. A missed conversion by Jake Elliott made the score 16-3 to Philadelphia.
Josh Jacobs responded with an angry run of his own to end the third quarter and set up a first-and-goal. He converted it himself to make the score 16-10. A field goal by the home team on the next possession made it 19-10 for the Eagles with just over seven and a half minutes remaining.
Jordan Love was under pressure on the next drive with Jayden Reed also joining Doubs on the sidelines with an injury. With Christian Watson also out for this game, the Packers quarterback did not have many options to throw to. It was painfully obvious on a fourth-and-three where he connected with Malik Heath on a high throw but the receiver could not get his feet in and turned the ball over on downs.
Philadelphia drove the ball downfield on the next possession and scored a field goal to go ahead 22-10. Green Bay's injury woes continued as they tried to make a late game of it, with starting center Josh Myers the next one to go down on the following possession. Jordan Love still tried to get something going but only ended up throwing his third interception in the endzone.
That gave the ball back to the Eagles and Saquon Barkley picked up a first down and slid to run down the clock when he had the chance to score a touchdown. It finished 22-10 and Philadelphia moved on to the divisional round of the NFC playoffs.
