Gus Edwards is an American running back representing the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2024 NFL season. He embarked on his professional career with the Ravens. Initially, he went undrafted, later he signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent. However, he was waived and then re-signed to the team’s practice squad. Subsequently, he secured a position on the team's active roster and made his NFL debut against the Tennessee Titans. During the 2023 regular season, he recorded his personal career-high, with 198 carries for 810 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Additionally, he secured 12 receptions for 180 receiving yards. In 2024, he joined the Chargers.
Edwards attended Tottenville High School, where he played high school football. He was rated a three-star recruit by ESPN, 247Sports.com, Rivals.com, and Scout.com. Edwards went on to play college football at the University of Miami from 2013 to 2016 before transferring to Rutgers University in 2017 as a graduate student.
