Harrison Smith is an American football safety for the Minnesota Vikings as of the 2024 NFL season. The Vikings drafted him with the 29th pick in the first round in the 2012 NFL Draft. Playing in all 16 regular season games in his rookie season, Smith combined for 104 total and 74 solo tackles and made it to the PFWA All-Rookie team that year. In his 13 years in the NFL, Smith is a six-time Pro Bowler and has appeared in 177 games, failing to only start one. He also has 1,046 combined and 769 solo tackles recorded, as of Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season.

Growing up in Tennessee, Smith attended Knoxville Catholic High School. He was considered a four-star recruit by Rivals, being listed as the no. 25 athlete nationally. During his final season in 2006, he ran for 1,340 yards and scored 19 touchdowns. Smith committed to the University of Notre Dame in 2007. According to Sports Reference, he recorded 307 total and 186 solo tackles in his 51 appearances over four seasons in college.
