Antonio Brown's NFL career looks to be all but over following his many shenanigans over the years. He looked to have made it back after Tom Brady and the Buccaneers brought him into the fold for the 2020 NFL season.
However, he blew that chance spectacularly when, during the 2021 season, he had a midgame meltdown. He left the field against the New York Jets, disrobing in front of the stadium with the match still in progress. It is hard to see a way back for him.
Naturally, for a sportsperson like him, playing the sport you specialize in is the primary source of income. For Antonio Brown, that means a loss of income from his NFL playing days. But he has since transitioned into a music career off the field.
A well-known face from his playing days, he already has a headstart in the entertainment business given his renown.

His current net worth is estimated to be around $20 million (per Celebrity Net Worth). He signed a $5 million deal with the new TuneCore-backed streaming service, Fwaygo Music.
So, in that perspective, he will be gaining from the deal there. There are other additional deals with the labels he chooses to sign up for as well. But due to his misdemeanors on the field, he has lost contracts with sports companies such as Nike, which will bring his net worth down.
Plus, his association with rapper Ye, previously known as Kanye West, has the potential to drag him down, given the latter's recent controversies.
So, it is difficult to assume how much he will actually be affected by the end of the year when all of that is considered. But even with his controversies, he continues to benefit from his previous fame.
How is Antonio Brown's rap career coming along?
Antonio Brown has already gotten a leg up in his rap career because of his NFL exploits, as alluded to before. Whether he can make the best of it is something unknown because of his famously volatile temperament. Additionally, whether he is any good at performing is unknown.
He did bag a prestigious gig in an established lineup for Rolling Loud 2022 in Miami. It featured big names like Kid Cudi, 2 Chainz, Playboi Carti, Saweetie, Future, Travis Scott, Lil Durk, and Ye. Establishing yourself in an acclaimed lineup like this is no mean feat.
The reaction to his appearance was mixed. His antics on stage did go viral. He popularized a dance move called 'Do Yo Dance', which, though simplistic, caught the eye of many observers.
It raked up millions of views on social media and, LeBron James to Draymond Green to Lamar Jackson were all seen grooving to it. Even NFL insider Adam Schefter seems to have caught the bug.
On the other hand, beyond the viral moment, there was not much enthusiasm about his performance when he did roll up to the festival. A look at the crowd shows a muted response to his performance.
However, much like his NFL career, the doubts will keep surfacing and not because of his talents.
His talents on the football field were never in question. He just couldn't keep out of trouble off it. Since he began his rap career, he has been embroiled in other controversies.
This included exposing himself at a public pool in Dubai to onlookers and female company. He was allegedly in a standoff with the police recently and they have a warrant out for him. His rap career might flame out because he is no good at it. There is a better chance it flames out because he was bad at something else.
