The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the best teams in the 2024 season. Nick Sirianni's team has run away with the NFC East, amassing 13 wins out of 16 games and putting themselves in strong contention to represent the NFC in the playoffs.
Their win against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17 was important for a number of reasons. While starter quarterback Jalen Hurts did not play, backup Kenny Pickett was also injured during the contest, with Tanner McKee taking over in the second half. However, even with quarterback problems, they won 41-7.
It was a special game for Saquon Barkley, who became only the ninth running back in the history of the NFL to run for over 2,000 yards in a single season. But this win was also important for the Eagles thinking about their playoff chances.
Have the Eagles clinched a playoff spot yet?
They have guaranteed a playoff berth since Week 15, but Sunday's win against the Dallas Cowboys guaranteed their NFC East title for the 2024 season.

They needed a single win to close out the division. The Washington Commanders still had a chance, with a 10-5 record entering the week. This means that the division will not repeat its champion, with the Dallas Cowboys out of the picture: the last time a team won the NFC East in back-to-back was in 2004.
Eagles playoff scenarios for 2024 season
With the win and their current 13-3 record, they are guaranteed to hold the #2 seed in the NFC for the playoffs. They'll play the Wild Card Round at home, and if they advance, no matter the opponent, they'll also play the Divisional Round at home.
They have no chance of winning the #1 seed and the home-field advantage in Week 18. The Minnesota Vikings are 14-2 and the Detroit Lions are 13-2 before playing the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.
The Eagles don't have the tiebreaker advantage against either of these teams. With the Vikings and the Lions playing against each other in Week 18, no matter what happens in those games, Philadelphia will be behind the NFC North champion, whether it's through the record (a possible 15-2) for Minnesota or a 14-3 for Detroit, who would be #1 nonetheless.
Whoever wins the Week 18 contest between the Lions and the Vikings are guaranteed to have the #1 seed, the home-field advantage through the NFC playoffs and the Wild Card Round bye.
