Herschel Walker is set to get some major help from Republicans as he looks to become the next United States Senator from Georgia. The Senate Leadership Fund (SLF) is the main outside group that backs Republican Senate incumbents. Challengers are doling out $14.2 million to put out ads in the state's runoff election between incumbent Democratic Sen.

SLF recently shared its runoff election plans first with Fox News. In a statement, SLF President Steven Law stated that the group is all-in on the former NFL star.

Law said:

SLF is all-in on electing Herschel Walker to the Senate. This air assault – along with our previously-announced ground game – shows we are pulling out the stops to win in Georgia and beat the Democrats."

The former two-time Pro Bowler finished around 35,000 votes behind Warnock out of the nearly 4 million votes cast in the Nov. 8 election in the pivotal Southern state.

The Georgia Secretary of State's Office stated last week that the Senate election was headed to a runoff on Dec.6 because neither candidate eclipsed 50 percent of the vote.

Per Georgia law, if no candidate gets more than 50 percent of the vote in the general election, the two candidates with the most votes will head to a runoff.

Based on unofficial returns, Warnock received 49.4 percent of the vote while Walker received 48.5 percent of the vote.

Much of the nation has their eye on this race as it's the lone Senate election that is yet to be decided.
