Hollywood Brown injury status: Should Fantasy managers be concerned about Chiefs WR for Week 16 Fantasy Football?

Hollywood Brown joined the Kansas City Chiefs in the offseason and was added to provide value as a deep ball threat. However, a left shoulder injury has prevented him from debuting for the two-time reigning Super Bowl champions.

Let's examine Brown's availability ahead of the Chiefs' Week 16 game against the Houston Texans.

Should fantasy managers be concerned about Hollywood Brown?

According to CBS Sports, Hollywood Brown participated fully in Tuesday's Kansas City Chiefs practice session. The veteran wide receiver actively trained and participated in drills with his teammates.

Fantasy managers shouldn't be concerned as Brown's potential availability will be a big plus for the Chiefs as they've lacked a deep ball threat for most of the 2024 regular season.

Furthermore, Andy Reid's side can do with as much help as possible as they're aiming for a historic third consecutive Super Bowl victory. Patrick Mahomes is famous for utilizing deep ball receivers with maximum efficiency and a reasonably fit Hollywood Brown could be a difference maker in January.

How have the Kansas City Chiefs faired without Hollywood Brown?

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered a major blow early this season when star wide receiver Rashee Rice suffered a season-ending injury. Rice was a key contributor to last season's Super Bowl run, and his absence forced Andy Reid to make alternative plans.

The Chiefs have since given rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy a more prominent role on the offense, added former Pro Bowler DeAndre Hopkins via trade, and found some productivity from TE2 Noah Gray.

Worthy leads all Chiefs wide receivers in receiving yards with 494 and co-leads in receiving touchdowns alongside Hopkins with four. As usual, Travis Kelce leads the team with 709 receiving yards but is experiencing a down year in touchdowns at a paltry two for the season.

It'll be interesting to see how Andy Reid uses Brown when he's cleared to return to action. If he's utilized properly, the Chiefs could be a nightmare for opponents in the playoffs.
