Houston Texans Playoff History
Houston Texans

Based in Houston, the Houston Texans are a professional American football team. The Texans play in the American Football Conference (AFC) South division of the National Football League. NRG Stadium is the team's home field. The team took the place of the Houston Oilers, the city's former NFL team, which operated from 1960 to 1996 before relocating to Nashville and changing its name to the Tennessee Titans. The Texans were the NFL's youngest team when they started as an expansion team in 2002.

Houston Texans Playoff Appearances Year-by-Year

According to Pro Football Reference, the Texans have a playoff record of 6 wins and 7 defeats in 13 games as of January 2025.

Although the Texans primarily suffered in the 2000s, their fortunes would improve in the 2010s as they secured their first playoff participation in 2011 by winning their first division title. Following that, the Texans won six more AFC South division titles in 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2023. They are the only team that has never won a road playoff game, the only team that has never played in a conference championship game, and one of only four teams—along with the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, and division rival Jacksonville Jaguars—that have never played in a Super Bowl.
