Elijah Mitchell is a running back who plays for the San Francisco 49ers. Mitchell is a member of a San Francisco backfield consisting of Christian McCaffrey, Kyle Juszczyk, and Tevin Coleman. Mitchell was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2021 by the San Francisco 49ers as a flex option at RB. So far in his career, Mitchell has done just that, providing depth in one of the best running back rooms in the league.
However, Mitchell picked up a nasty knee injury in San Francisco's win against the New Orleans Saints, which needed surgery. As such, Elijah Mitchell is expected to miss 6-8 weeks due to an MCL sprain, thus ruling him out of the 2022 NFL regular season. It is worth noting that Mitchell suffered a similar injury at the beginning of the year, and he missed two months of action due to the MCL injury.
Elijah Mitchell's fantasy outlook for Week 13
Elijah Mitchell is rostered by 59.2 per cent of league fantasy managers, which is surprisingly high for a third-string running back. However, Mitchell does pretty well when given a chance to showcase his talents in San Francisco. There's no doubt that the injury comes at a bad time for the year two pro, as his team is just about to secure another playoff berth.

So, in Mitchell's absence, San Francisco career backup RBs Jordan Mason and Tyrion Davis-Price are now in line to step up to RB3 for the 49ers. They will take snaps behind top back Christian McCaffrey.
Expect Elijah Mitchell to slide down from his 75th positional rank in the official NFL fantasy league.
Elijah Mitchell's 2022 season stats
Elijah Mitchell was a stud at Louisiana State University. The current NFL running back looked almost certain to have his name called in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, it wasn't to be, as all 32 franchises elected to pass on him in the draft. However, soon after the last round of the draft, the San Francisco 49ers snagged him as an undrafted free agent.
Since joining the league, Elijah Moore has acted as a backup running back, backup wide receiver, and stretch fullback. His role is to be up and ready when the team needs him. This year, he's putting up a stat line of 40 rush attempts, 224 rushing yards, and zero rushing touchdowns in four games played in the injury-riddled season.
