Julius Peppers will be one of the seven members inducted into the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. The former NFL linebacker spent 17 years in the big league and played for three teams.

The Carolina Panthers selected Peppers as the No. 2 pick in the 2002 NFL draft. He played eight seasons with the Panthers in his first stint with the team before signing for the Chicago Bears in 2010.

Following a four-year stint with the Bears, Peppers signed for the Green Bay Packers in 2014. He rejoined the Panthers in 2017 and played two more seasons in Carolina before announcing his retirement on Feb. 1, 2019.

Panthers owner David Tepper had a special mention for Peppers after it was announced that he would be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“Congratulations to Julius on his selection to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024,” Tepper said in a statement. “On the field, he was blessed with the athleticism and intelligence to make a hard game seem simple en route to becoming one of the best players in NFL history, regardless of position.
"Beyond his accomplishments, we’ve had the privilege of getting to know Julius as a person. He is humble, thoughtful, wise, and quietly commands respect in any setting. We can’t think of anyone more deserving of being a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer.”

As per Spotrac, Peppers made just under $165 million in career earnings from his pro football career. According to CelebrityNetWorth, Peppers has a net worth of $60 million.

Across 17 years in the NFL, Julius Peppers racked up 715 tackles, of which 552 were solo. He also posted 159.5 sacks, 79 passes defended, 51 forced fumbles, 11 interceptions and four touchdowns in the regular season. In 18 postseason games, Peppers racked up 29 tackles, two forced fumbles, two passes defended, and one interception.

Peppers made an instant impression in the NFL and was named the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2002. He also earned nine Pro Bowl honors, three Second-Team All-Pro selections and three First-Team All-Pro selections.

In 2023, Peppers discussed the potential of being in the Hall of Fame (via Panthers.com):

"One day, hopefully, if we go to the Hall of Fame, that'd be the end, and I would close the book on everything football."

Peppers will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday in Canton, Ohio.
