Joseph Eugene Porter Jr. is a cornerback for the Penn State Nittany Lions in American football. He is the son of Joey Porter, a former NFL linebacker. The son of former Steelers player Joey Porter earned a first-team all-state selection at North Allegheny High School before competing in four games and taking a redshirt in 2019. In 2020, he was named honourable mention All-Big Ten after starting eight games and recording 33 tackles, two for loss, and four pass breakups. Porter was a third-team all-conference selection in 2021, appearing in all 13 games and recording 51 tackles, one interception, and four pass breakups. Despite missing two late-season games with appendicitis, he earned second-team Associated Press All-American and first-team all-conference honors in 2022, as well as the team's Most Valuable Defensive Player Award (27 tackles, 11 pass breakups in 10 starts). He declined to play in the Rose Bowl.
