An exciting prospect in this year’s NFL draft, Zay Flowers, plays the wide receiver position for Boston College Eagles. Flower’s, born on 11 September 2000 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, attended NSU University School in Florida. Now, in his Senior year at Boston College, Flowers is studying communications as his major.
In high school, Flowers played as a wide receiver as well as a defensive back. The energetic and focused receiver has a lot to rave over. First and foremost, he is extremely quick. He has a great ability to stop and then accelerate rapidly leaving defenders behind. However, at times it seems that he is in too much of a hurry to get ahead.
Dropped catches are a part of his game that need to be worked on. One other concern is with respect to his overall size. At 5 feet 8 and 182 lbs, he is a diminutive figure on the field. It will be interesting to see how he holds his own against the bigger and stronger defenders in the NFL.
Zay Flowers’ NIL deal
Flowers is a top wide receiver prospect in this year’s draft class. It was reported in the past offseason that he had received 6 figure offers from several schools via transfer. Schools were ready to offer Flowers deals through name, image and likeness.
As per reports, one school offered Zay up to $600,000. However, Zay’s father was against the idea of a transfer as he wanted his son to complete his communications degree from Boston College to secure his future.
In hindsight, the decision has proved to be a good one as Zay is able to complete his degree and he also had a record-breaking season with the Eagles. Also, Zay has managed to get a couple of NIL deals through the likes of:
Candy Digital
Dunkin
McGovern Auto

Flowers, who was a priority signing for the dealership, received a silver X6M BMW with a red interior. The price of the car is estimated to be around $90,000. Zay became the first Boston College player to sign a deal valued this much.
