CFL 2024: Toronto Argonauts vs. Montreal Alouettes Week 4 game preview

The Argonauts recorded a narrow 39-36 win over the Edmonton Elks in Week 3 of the CFL season, thanks to a game-winning field goal from Lirim Hajrullahu. Toronto got its first win of the season against the BC Lions.

Notably, the Argonauts have won 11 consecutive home games and will want to extend their streak when they host the Alouettes on Friday. Quarterback Cameron Dukes will continue to lead the Argonauts' offense in the absence of Chad Kelly, who is serving a nine-game suspension.

On Thursday, Toronto linebacker Wynton McManis said about the confidence flowing through the Argos team ahead of the matchup against Montreal.

"It's the two best teams in the East going at it," McManis said. "They're very confident right now, you can tell by how physical they're playing and how they're flying around, especially on defence.
"We're a confident team as well, we haven't lost a game either. We have a chip on our shoulder, they're playing with a chip on their shoulder and it's going to be a fun one."

Meanwhile, the Alouettes are on a superb run, having won all three games this season. They are also unbeaten in 11 games.

Montreal is coming off a convincing 47-21 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks. Quarterback Cody Fajardo was the star of the show, as he racked up 393 passing yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another touchdown.

The Alouettes also beat the Toronto Argonauts in last year's East Division final en route the Grey Cup championship. Hence, they will carry some added confidence into the game.
