"I don’t want to brag": When Patrick Mahomes was smug about adorable parenting win with daughter Sterling

Patrick Mahomes has a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders. He is the leader of the top team in the NFL this season with a vision to achieve the unthinkable: a hat trick of Super Bowls. On the other hand, he is the father of two children with a third on the way. It seems that fatherhood brings out the best in the Chiefs QB.

Mahomes is often seen enjoying his time on the field when his wife and kids are around in the stands. In an interview with The Kansas City Star in September 2021, Mahomes revealed an adorable thing about his parenting life with his daughter, Sterling.

“I don’t want to brag or anything, but she’s slept through the night literally, like, since she was 3 months old,” Mahomes said.

Patrick Mahomes and daughter Sterling have a common trait

Patrick Mahomes’ statements were about their 33-29 win over the Chicago Bears in 2021. After the game, he made a gesture to shush the crowd; at least that’s what others thought, but his wife, Brittany knew it was for their daughter.

“I think he knows (Sterling) is trying to take a nap,” Brittany tweeted.

Brittany often attends the game with the children beside her. However, in 2021, the couple only had Sterling. Bronze was born in November 2022. Sterling would accompany her mother to the games with a protective headset on.

Mahomes' longtime trainer, Bobby Stroupe, revealed that there is a notable similarity between Mahomes and his daughter.

“I want the headline to be that he is the most prolific sleeper in the world,” Stroupe said.

Stroupe jokingly said that his student was the "undisputed sleeping champion." Mahomes responded by confirming his fondness for sleeping.

“I like to sleep, for sure,” Mahomes said.

Stroupe also jokingly calls him a sloth.

Patrick Mahomes enjoys seeing his daughter Sterling grow

Mahomes still teases his daughter while he is on the field. In October, he sent a message to Sterling via ESPN.

“Hey Sterling, go to bed!” Mahomes said.

Mahomes added that he is excited to go back home to his daughter after games.

“The fact that, like, every time you go home, even if you’re tired, even if you had a long day, you’re so excited to see her,” Mahomes said. “And to see how she’s already changing and how fast she’s growing. Already I want her to slow down.”

Mahomes and Brittany will have their third child in May 2025.
