Aaron Rodgers will experience a full-circle moment on Monday, as his New York Jets host the Buffalo Bills with the AFC East on the line. It's been over a year since he faced the reigning divisional champions in his debut wearing Gotham green (which was also on Monday Night Football) and tore his Achilles tendon on a low hit by defensive end Leonard Floyd, ending his 2023 season before it even began.
However, back in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings, he sprained his ankle after being overwhelmed by multiple defenders. After a brief stay at the medical tent, he managed to return to the field and finish the game.
So, will he be available for this cruicial game?

Aaron Rodgers injury report
After Saturday's practice, Rodgers was taken off the Jets' injury report, signifying that he will play on Monday. He had been a limited participant on Thursday and Friday but completed all sessions on Saturday.
Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said of his man's recovery:
"He's looked really good. He's a magician as far as the work he puts into his body and all the regen, and all the everything. He looks like Aaron, which is a fantastic thing, as we all know."
Also off the injury list are tackles Tyron Smith (rest) and Morgan Moses (knee), which should mean better protection for a man who has been sacked eight times in the last two games. However, one passing target may be absent: tight end Tyler Conklin, who is questionable due to hip issues.
What to expect of Aaron Rodgers vs. Bills on MNF
The game against the Bills will also purportedly mark the Jets' first under a new offensive strategy that focuses on the run, a stark contrast to when Nathaniel Hackett urged Aaron Rodgers to throw aplenty.
That is what Jay Glazer said on his "The Inside Scoop" segment on FOX NFL Sunday, even noting that the quarterback was supportive of it:
Potentially helping them in that transition is quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Todd Downing. As the offensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans in 2021 and 2022, he ran a run-heavy system that focused on handing off to Derrick Henry as much as possible.
Interim head coach (and defensive coordinator) Jeff Ulbrich hopes that this change will elevate Breece Hall, who has been averaging only three yards — the second-worst among running backs with at least 30 carries.
The threat of a ground game can also better reveal receiving opportunities for Aaron Rodgers' passing targets, like Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.
