Aidan O'Connell was born on Sept. 1, 1998, to parents Brian and Karen O'Connell in Long Grove, Illinois. He grew up with five brothers — Sean, Patrick, Liam and Seamus — and a sister, Grace.
Aidan's elder brother Sean passed away in November 2022. The O'Connells did not reveal the cause of Sean's death.
Aidan played football and basketball when he was at Stevenson High School. He later focused solely on football and committed to Purdue in 2017.
The quarterback did not play in his first two years with the Boilermakers and eventually made his first appearance in the 2019 season. Aidan was named as Purdue's starter ahead of the 2021 season. He played two more years before declaring for the 2023 NFL draft, where the Raiders picked him in the fourth round.
Aidan married his long-time girlfriend, Jael, in July 2022. She played college volleyball for Purdue.

Kevin O'Connell was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on May 25, 1985, to parents Bill and Suzanne. Kevin's father worked as an FBI agent.
Kevin attended La Costa Canyon High School where he played on the school's football and basketball teams. He narrowed down to playing football as a quarterback in college at San Diego State. He graduated with a degree in political science.
After a brief NFL playing career, Kevin ventured into coaching. He got his first head coaching job in 2022 with the Minnesota Vikings.
Kevin married his longtime partner Leah in 2010. The couple has two sons, Kaden and Kolten, and two daughters, Quinn and Callie.
