Is Alvin Kamara playing tonight vs Bengals in Week 6?

Seattle Seahawks v New Orleans Saints
Seattle Seahawks v New Orleans Saints

Alvin Kamara will be vital to any chance of success for the New Orleans Saints as they take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6. The Saints lack both their top wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Michael Thomas, and starting quarterback Jameis Winston is also questionable. Therefore, the run game is going to be vital if they are to remain competitive.

Taysom Hill was also contending with a rib injury and was limited in practice earlier this week, but he has since recovered. His partnership with Kamara will likely determine how the game goes. Alvin Kamara was injured in Week 2 but returned last week for a virtuoso performance. Against the Seattle Seahawks, he had a total of 194 yards from the line of scrimmage: 103 yards rushing and 91 yards receiving. He rushed 23 times and caught all six of his targets.

While the defense of the Bengals is much better than that of the Seahawks, their lack of firepower in receiving areas may mean more dependence on players like Kamara.

Alvin Kamara fantasy football updates and predictions

Alvin Kamara is expected to play this week against the Bengals. His performance is unlikely to be as good as it was last week, but he should start in your fantasy team. Due to injuries to other positions, he will see a lot of snaps. He took part in 73% of the snaps last week and that is expected to continue this week as well.

Alvin Kamara's NFL timeline

Picked in Round 3 of the 2017 NFL Draft, he has been one of the most consistent performers for New Orleans. He was named the 2017 NFL Rookie of the Year and has since gone from strength to strength. He has made it to the Pro Bowl in all five ensuing seasons and made the All-Pro team twice.

He has been a true dual-threat on offense, contributing equally to both rushing and receiving. In fact, he has 4,441 rushing yards and 3,373 receiving yards, showing his versatility. In this period, he has contributed to 47 rushing touchdowns and 20 receiving touchdowns.

Last season was his first season below 700 yards in receiving as his output dropped. While that skew still remains, his last outing against the Seahawks showed him achieving about 100 yards in both receiving and rushing. If he can maintain this form, he will be valuable to both the Saints and any fantasy football team.
