Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson played his first game of 2024 against the Houston Texans in Week 1 following a protracted injury layoff since Week 5 of the 2023 campaign.
The second-year quarterback completed nine of 19 passes for 212 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Week 1 game. In addition, he had a rushing touchdown and 56 yards on six carries.
The Colts are scheduled to face the Houston Texans for the second time this season in Week 8. This game could provide the opportunity for Richardson to face one team twice in the same season, but will he be available to play?

Will Anthony Richardson play against the Texans in Week 8?
Anthony Richardson will play for the Indianapolis Colts against the Houston Texans in Week 8. Last week, the quarterback helped the Colts to a win against the Miami Dolphins after missing two weeks of action.
Richardson sustained an oblique injury in Week 4 and missed games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans. He was back on the field last weekend.
Anthony Richardson is now expected to start again against the Texans.
So far this season, Richardson has completed 49 of his 101 attempts for 783 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions through Week 7. He has also accumulated 197 yards and one touchdown on 35 rushes.
Anthony Richardson's passing has been largely erratic. In addition, his performance against the Dolphins last week wasn't particularly stellar as well.
Richardson needs to improve his precision in Week 8 for the Colts to have any chance against the Texans, who are presently ranked fourth in the league in terms of pass defense.
