The Chicago Bears are not one of the teams with much to hope for in the last week of the 2024 NFL season. As a result, many people would be curious whether the team will rest quarterback Caleb Williams and other key players when they play the Green Bay Packers in Week 18.

Chicago was touted by many analysts before the season kicked off to make a postseason run. However, the team has been among the league's most disappointing squads and is currently on a 10-game losing skid.

The Bears will get the chance to snap that bad run against a divisional rival on Sunday. The Packers have already locked up a playoff spot, but it doesn't appear they will rest their starters today.

Exploring Caleb Williams' availability status for Week 18

Caleb Williams will play in Chicago's regular-season finale against the Packers on Sunday.

During the week, interim coach Thomas Brown rejected the notion that there is nothing at stake versus Green Bay as the Bears began preparing for one more opportunity to end their 10-game losing skid.

According to Brown, the stakes of playing and winning an NFL game are high enough to use Williams and all his other key players at Lambeau Field in Week 18.

The coach said he hadn't talked with general manager Ryan Poles about the possibility of resting Williams for the game. He thinks the rookie quarterback still has a lot to learn as he works to become his best.

While Williams will play for the Bears today, the team has ruled three players out for the trip to Green Bay: running back Travis Homer (hamstring), guard Teven Jenkins (calf) and safety Elijah Hicks (ankle/foot).

How has Caleb Williams performed this season?

The Chicago Bears selected quarterback Caleb Williams as the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL draft. The team was expected to enter an entirely fresh phase with his arrival in Chicago, but that hasn't happened.

Williams hasn't performed badly in his debut NFL season, but he has fallen short in the most crucial statistic—team wins. To be fair, the quarterback's NFL career also hasn't started as well as it could have because he's had to work with multiple offensive coordinators and head coaches in his first year.

Williams has completed 330 of 533 passes for 3,393 yards and 19 touchdowns. He has a chance to surpass 3,500 passing yards and 20 touchdowns this season if he plays well against the Packers in Week 18, which is more than respectable given that it's his rookie campaign.

Caleb Williams needs to be much better this time if he wants to find the end zone, as he failed to register a touchdown in the first game against the Packers in November.
