"Is Caleb Williams playing today" is a question most Chicago Bears fans wanted answered last week when they faced the Houston Texans in the 2024 Hall of Fame Game. Alas, the Bears rookie didn't see the field against the Texans last week, depriving Bears fans of a first look at their flashy young quarterback under center. Instead, Brett Rypien took the reps, leading the Bears to a 21-17 win.
However, Bears fans won't have to wait much longer to see Caleb Williams in action.
Head coach Matt Eberflus confirmed to reporters that Williams will suit up on Sunday afternoon against the Buffalo Bills.
"We want to see a good flow and rhythm to it," Eberflus said on making the decision.

In an earlier press conference, Eberflus said that they will aim to get their rookie QB between 45 and 65 reps in preseason so expect to see a lot of the former USC signal caller before Week 1 kicks off.
Eberflus added that every starter who's available will get some game time against the Bills.
The rest of the Bears' preseason schedule will see them take on the Cincinnati Bengals next Saturday, August 17, at 1 PM in Chicago and then face the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night, August 22 for an 8:20 PM kickoff.
How to watch Chicago Bears vs Buffalo Bills live

Inside Bears rookie Caleb Williams' diet
It appears Caleb Williams is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to hit the ground running in the NFL. An ESPN report revealed that he has also altered his diet to that of Tom Brady's patent TB12 diet.
This means Williams will mostly stick to a plant-based diet in an effort to reduce inflammation. Considering Tom Brady played 23 seasons in the league, Williams is on the right track to set himself up for long-term success in longevity.
