Is Dak Prescott playing tonight? A status update on the Dallas Cowboys QB

Dallas Cowboys v Minnesota Vikings
Dak Prescott #4 of the Dallas Cowboys celebrates after defeating the Minnesota Vikings 20-16 at U.S. Bank Stadium on October 31, 2021 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dak Prescott will play for the Dallas Cowboys tonight against a Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prescott has had an injury-riddled 2022 NFL Regular season, with his backup, Cooper Rush coming in at various points. However, the Mississippi State alum will be up and ready for his latest playoffs appearance.

Prescott will lead a Dallas Cowboys side that has been impressive over the regular season and has won several unfavorable matchups. However, it is important to note that Prescott picked up an injury the last time he played against the Bucs. He hopes the injury bug stays far away this time in Tampa.

Prescott will call the shots for a solid Dallas Cowboys team that is dangerous on offense and defense. The seventh-year Pro has solid weapons like Ezekiel Elliott, Tony Pollard, and CeeDee Lamb. On defense, they have Micah Parsons, who was selected into the All-Pro team for yet another year. The Cowboys have their legacy and reputation at stake, and so does Dak.

Dak Prescott's Fantasy Outlook

Dak Prescott had a decent season even though he missed five games earlier due to an injury. Following the injury, Prescott habitually took unnecessary risks by throwing into an opponent's coverage points. That has led to Prescott accumulating a league-high 15 interceptions for the year, despite only playing in 12 games. It became so bad that Cowboys fans began to turn on him. Thankfully, he has been more careful with the ball lately.

The Cowboys will hope Prescott plays way better than he did last time out versus the already eliminated Commanders. A match in which he had a season-low 14.8 QBR, and one match where nothing seemed to go with it.

Prescott will have to shake off such rustiness tonight, as it takes near perfection to win a QB duel against Tom Brady.

How is Dak Prescott performing this season?

Dak Prescott has been average in the 2022 - 2023 NFL season. The former fourth-round pick has kept his position as the Cowboys' number-one shot caller when fit. He has largely been effective in Mick McCarthy's system. This is despite him losing a major part of his offense when the Cowboys dealt away Amari Cooper, and Cooper has yet to be replaced.

Prescott is putting up decent numbers across the board. He has a stat line of 2,860 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions in 12 matches.
