Star wide receiver A.J. Brown will not be available Monday night when the Philadelphia Eagles play the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football because of a hamstring issue.
It's very likely that the Eagles will look to DeVonta Smith to fill the hole left by Brown's absence in Monday night's game against the Falcons. Let's explore below if the former Heisman-winning WR will play tonight.
Will DeVonta Smith play Monday night?
The Eagles released their last injury report ahead of their Week 2 game this weekend, ruling out Brown. However, Smith does not have any injury concern ahead of the Monday night game and will suit up for the contest.

Philadelphia has decided not to play Brown in Week 2 after the standout receiver missed practice on Saturday. The team has chosen to be cautious with Brown, so Smith is expected to be quarterback Jalen Hurts' main target on offense tonight.
Smith, a 2021 first-round draft selection, had a breakout year in 2022 with 95 catches for 1,196 yards. He is now in line to get more targets tonight against the Falcons defense.
"We are fully confident that DeVonta and Saquon Barkley will step up," head coach Nick Sirianni of the Philadelphia Eagles told reporters on Saturday. "They're both dynamic playmakers who can stress defenses in multiple ways.”
Smith caught seven of his eight targets for 87 yards in the first game of the season against the Green Bay Packers. That number is expected to be markedly better against the Falcons tonight with Brown out.

Kirk Cousins, Atlanta's new quarterback, will look to improve on his down performance from Week 1. The team's season-opening loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers (18–10) left the quarterback looking unsteady in his first game back following an Achilles injury sustained last season. He completed 16 of his 26 throws for 155 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in Week 1.
As for the Eagles, they traveled to South America for their opening game and defeated the Green Bay Packers, 34-29.
The Eagles will try to build on their strong start to the season on Monday night by winning another game. They will square off against the Falcons on Monday, September 16, at 8:15 pm ET, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
