As per reports, DK Metcalf is in contention to play against the 49ers on Sunday. However, there is still no confirmation that the wideout will suit up for the Week 11 game.

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald provided an update on Metcalf's injury on Monday but still didn't give fans an exact timeline on the player's return.

"Doing well," Macdonald said on Metcalf. "Optimistic. We should see him on Wednesday out there (at practice)."

Metcalf injured his knee during Seattle's Week 7 win over the Atlanta Falcons when landing awkwardly after making a catch. He needed to be carted off the field. It was later reported that he suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain, and Macdonald said the injury wasn't a long-term issue.

Metcalf subsequently missed the Seahawks' Week 8 loss against the Buffalo Bills and the overtime Week 9 loss against the LA Rams. Seattle had a bye in Week 10, which gave the player an extra week to recover.

It now remains to be seen whether Metcalf will return to practice this week. Furthermore, Macdonald is optimistic that the player can partake in a few sessions before the trip to San Francisco. If Metcalf can take part in full practice, we could see him make a return this weekend against the 49ers.

Metcalf has been a key member of Seattle's offense this season. He has racked up 568 yards and caught three touchdowns on 35 receptions.
