The Seattle Seahawks offense had a dismal outing in Week 8, as they suffered a 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills at home to fall to 4-4. Quarterback Geno Smith had one of his most underwhelming performances of the season, as he finished the game with only 212 passing yards, no touchdown passes and one interception. Seattle's passing game looked extremely timid without DK Metcalf, who missed the game with a knee injury.
The wide receiver is arguably their most important player on offense. He leads the team in receiving yards with 568 and touchdown catches with three. He's the only player on the roster with over 400 receiving yards and multiple touchdown catches. Without him, the offense looked toothless against the Bills.
The Seahawks were holding on to hope that he'd recover in time and return for their divisional battle in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams at home. However, it didn't pan out as they'd hoped for.

DK Metcalf injury update: Will WR play in Week 9?
On Friday, the Seahawks confirmed that Metcalf hadn't recovered from his injury and wouldn't play against the Rams on Sunday.
The wide receiver was carted off the field after suffering an MCL strain in the fourth quarter of their blowout win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7.
The Seahawks didn't place him on IR and listed his status as "week-to-week" following the injury. He will now miss a second straight game, which is a massive blow to Seattle's odds of beating their NFC West rivals.
How to watch Seahawks vs. Rams? TV schedule and live stream details
On Sunday, the 4-4 Seahawks will try to upstage the 3-4 Rams without DK Metcalf in the first of their two meetings this season. Seattle is hoping to avoid below the .500 mark, while LA is looking to get up to that mark for the first time this season.
The Rams have been in fine form and have won two straight. They pulled off a surprise win over the high-flying Minnesota Vikings in Week 8 and gunning for their third straight win. The Seahawks will have their work cut out, especially without their top threat on offense. It's shaping up to be a high-stakes contest, as it always is between these two divisional rivals.
