Jahmyr Gibbs, 22, strained his hamstring during a night practice on Aug. 12, throwing all Detroit Lions fans in a panic mode. Gibbs said on Tuesday that he feels well and won't be limited for the season opener against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Lions supporters may exhale with relief after the Pro Bowl running back was left off of the team's final injury report ahead of Week 1.
Gibbs will begin his second NFL season following an amazing 2023 rookie year. He ran for 945 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning him a spot in the Pro Bowl. He also added one touchdown and 316 receiving yards in the air.
In addition, Gibbs was selected as one of the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year finalists. He was instrumental in guiding the Lions to their first NFC Championship game in more than 30 years.
In a recent interview with ESPN, Gibbs said that going into his second NFL season he feels more confident overall and is looking to take the next big step in 2024.
Going forward, Gibbs and the Lions will aim for consistent and ongoing success, which they must begin by overcoming the Rams in today's Week 1 encounter.
