Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered a concussion that kept him out of the last two matches of the regular season. He then returned for the playoffs after passing the concussion protocol. He then suffered a knee injury during last week's divisional round matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.

Hurts' availability for the NFC Championship game was called into question after he sustained the injury early in the second half of last week's playoff game.

The 26-year-old quarterback has struggled with injuries late in the season to his finger, ankle, shoulder, and now, knee in the past three seasons.

Let's find out if Hurts will be available for Sunday's pivotal NFC Championship game against the Washington Commanders.

Exploring Jalen Hurts' availability status for the NFC Championship game

Jalen Hurts recently gave an encouraging update on his recuperation, and he will be prepared to play in Sunday's NFC Championship game against the Washington Commanders. However, some safety precautions will need to be taken.

Hurts stated that his knee is getting better as he gets ready for the big game. Also, he was left off of the Eagles' final injury report on Friday after being limited in practice on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Hurts addressed his injury condition by saying:

"It's a part of the game, and whatever comes with that comes with that, you know.”

The quarterback added that it's likely he'll need a knee brace. When asked if he will be wearing a knee brace for the game, Hurts said:

"I anticipate so.”

Given Hurts' injury, head coach Nick Sirianni has been cautious regarding the team's preparation for the upcoming game. He said:

"I think he's had a good week of practice.”

Sirianni emphasized that the team's strategy will be one of attentiveness and caution, acknowledging the difficulty of managing Hurts' injury while still striving for a win.

"We try to put Jalen in safe situations," he emphasized. "We want him to put himself in safe situations.”

During the regular season, Hurts passed for 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions. In the Eagles' two playoff victories over the Rams in the divisional round and the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round, he also threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns.

On their final injury report, the Eagles classified wide receiver Britain Covey and offensive lineman Cam Jurgens as questionable for Sunday's game. The team also ruled out linebacker Byron Young.
