The Eagles were sweating the fitness of their starting quarterback Jalen Hurts before meeting the Packers on Sunday. The Philadelphia star has not played for the last two weeks after suffering a concussion against the Commanders in Week 16 of the regular season. Thankfully for the Eagles fans, Philadelphia managed to win against the Cowboys and the Giants to end their season.

However, neither of those teams made the playoffs, and facing the Packers in the Wild Card round is a different kettle of fish. Therefore, fans were waiting with bated breath whether Hurts will feature against Green Bay and this is what we know.

Jalen Hurts' Wild Card round injury update

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni revealed that Jalen Hurts has cleared the concussion protocol and will face off against the Packers for the Eagles on Sunday. The quarterback, who also has been battling a left finger injury, did not have a game designation on the injury report either.

He was limited in practice on Wednesday but was a full participant on both Thursday and Friday. Backup Kenny Pickett might be considered a bigger worry was limited in practice throughout with a rib issue. On the other side, Jordan Love had a similar practice schedule to Jalen Hurts as the Green Bay quarterback battled an elbow issue.

How has Jalen Hurts performed this season?

Jalen Hurts has been a critical offensive piece for the Eagles this season and his return will be welcome for their fans. He has 2,903 passing yards this season with a healthy completion rate of 68.7 percent. He has 18 touchdowns and five interceptions for a passer rating of 103.7.

However, that does not tell the whole story. The Eagles have made an art form of picking up short yardage with their brotherly shove and that translates to their quarterback's numbers in the endzone. He has 14 rushing touchdowns and 630 yards on the ground.

Hurts' scrambling ability also opens up rushing lanes for Saquon Barkley, who recorded more than 2,000 rushing yards in the regular season. As defenders have to commit to the quarterback to keep him honest, it eases the pressure on the running back.

The good news for the Packers is that Jalen Hurts recorded his worst passer rating of 80.3 in the opening week against them this season, excluding the Commanders game where he had to leave early due to concussion. In the match, he had two picks and two touchdowns. He has had only three interceptions since. His 58.8 percent completion rate in that clash was also his lowest for the season.

Therefore, Philadelphia fans have to hope that their quarterback plays like he has done for the rest of the season in the Wild Card round and not as he did against Green Bay.
