This weekend at SoFi Stadium, the Los Angeles Chargers will host the Los Angeles Rams as part of their preseason schedule. The Rams versus Chargers game is set to begin at 7:05 p.m. ET on Saturday in Inglewood, California.
Rams fans will miss out on seeing starting quarterback Matthew Stafford under center against the Chargers on Saturday as he isn't expected to participate in any preseason games.
Stafford did not show up for Thursday's walkthrough after leaving Wednesday's joint practice between the Rams and Dallas Cowboys. The Rams clarified that the quarterback's hamstring tightness-related absence was merely a precaution. According to The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue, coach Sean McVay said Stafford should be back in practice next week, indicating that his ailment is not serious.

In any event, Stetson Bennett and Dresser Winn will again split time under center for the Rams on Saturday as neither Stafford nor backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo are thought to be available to play.
Garoppolo will miss the first two regular-season games due to his violation of the NFL's policy regarding performance-enhancing substances while playing for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Rams will be looking to determine whether Bennett can be relied on with the QB2 role for the season's opening two games against the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals.
Bennett will play his second preseason game after his four interceptions and one score from last week's 13-12 preseason win over the Cowboys.
