Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons has been sidelined with a high ankle sprain for the last three games.

Parsons suffered an ankle injury while playing against the New York Giants on September 26. Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, now on injured reserve, also suffered a significant foot injury during the same game.

Fans of the Cowboys, a team that has struggled to put pressure on quarterbacks in recent games, are hoping the linebacker will be back in the lineup in Week 9.

In Week 9, the Cowboys go on the road to play the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon.

Will Micah Parsons play against the Falcons on Sunday?

Parsons has missed games against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers. He will miss yet another game for the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9 due to the ankle injury that has kept him out since Week 4.

Parsons' injury is even more noteworthy since this is the first season in his more than three-year NFL career that he has missed games due to an injury. He and DeMarcus Lawrence, who is also injured, are arguably the best defensive players on the team's roster, so their absence impacts the Cowboys' defense.

The Cowboys won the first game without Parsons against Pittsburgh. However, they are on a two-game losing slide heading into their matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, which has won four of its last five games.

To make matters worse, Dallas has also ruled out cornerback DaRon Bland and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips for Week 9. During the preseason, Bland was in surgery to treat a stress fracture in his foot, and he hasn't played yet this season.

Dallas will probably depend on seasoned defensive end Carl Lawson to Parsons' place again when they face Atlanta on Sunday. Parsons, who has already registered 14 total tackles, one sack and one pass defensed in four games this season, leaves a significant void for Lawson to fill.
