The wideout, who was recovering from a hamstring injury for the past few weeks, was taken off the injured reserve on Saturday. USA Today reported that Collins being activated would mean "the Texans have confidence he will be able to play against the Lions," but a decision will be made closer to the game.
Collins picked up the hamstring injury in the Texans' Week 5 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. He pulled up after making a 67-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter and then exited the game.
Houston then placed Collins on the IR list on Oct. 9, which forced him to sit out four games. He subsequently missed the Week 6 matchup against the New England Patriots, the Week 7 game against the Green Bay Packers, the Week 8 clash against the Indianapolis Colts, and the Week 9 game against the New York Jets.
Collins was one of the most important offensive players for Houston before he suffered his hamstring injury. The receiver had posted 567 yards on 32 receptions and caught three touchdowns in five games.
Now, it will be interesting to see whether Collins will play against the Lions in Week 10.
