Rashee Rice is arguably the best asset in the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver room, which is why his loss was huge for the defending two-time Super Bowl champions. The second-year wideout earned a major role on the team's offense, starting the season as WR1 following a remarkable rookie season.

Unfortunately for Chiefs Kingdom, Rice suffered a major injury in Week 4 of the season against the LA Chargers. After a tumultuous play with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Rice suffered a posterolateral corner (PLC) injury, which is less common than a torn ACL or MCL.

It's been two months since he sustained this injury and after a cryptic Instagram post, fans are wondering if Rice could make a shocking return to the field before the season ends.

Can Rashee Rice play again this season?

Despite being less common than ACL or MCL injuries, a PLC injury has a similar recovery time to the other two. After undergoing successful surgery, Rice was declared out for the year, with Andy Reid saying that his return timetable would be similar to an ACL injury.

It was fair to think he would be out until the 2025 season, but Rice's latest activity on social media made fans speculate about a potential early return.

The young wide receiver shared a picture of himself with Xavier Worthy and Marquis Brown, which sent Chiefs Nation into a frenzy.

The Chiefs lost Brown too and other receivers like JuJu Smith-Schuster picked up injuries. Even though this might be a promising post by Rashee Rice, there aren't any reports that indicate he will be back on the field before the season ends.

Aaron Rodgers also teased a return during the 2023 season after tearing his Achilles four plays into the campaign, but he was never really close to returning. This appears to be the case for Rice, who has been only two months away after undergoing surgery.

Even though this would be a major boost for the Chiefs' championship aspirations, Rashee Rice will remain out until the start of the 2025 NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs are still going strong and with clear chances to become the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

At the time of getting hurt, Rice had 24 receptions on 29 targets for 288 yards and two touchdowns. The bright side is that the Chiefs will likely have Marquis Brown on the field before initially expected and potentially ready to help them in a playoff run.
