San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot in the chest on August 31, during a robbery after first missing nearly all of training camp due to a shoulder subluxation.
Many had low expectations for Pearsall's rookie season, believing that whatever he produces on the field in this first year should be considered a bonus. He returned to the field for the Niners in Week 7. However, he has only caught one pass in the last four games, so he hasn't had much impact on the team's offense.
Pearsall hasn't missed any games due to injuries since he returned from a gunshot injury in Week 7. The 24-year-old wideout is expected to be available for the Thursday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Rams, as he doesn't appear to be dealing with any injury.

Having just made one catch in his last four games, Niners fans hope that Pearsall eventually begins to see more involvement, especially since the game is considered to be a must-win for San Francisco if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.
While Pearsall will be active, the 49ers have ruled out three players for the game: LT Trent Williams (ankle), S Malik Mustapha (chest. shoulder), and G Ben Bartch (ankle). Additionally, the team has ruled running back Isaac Guerendo (foot) and defensive end Nick Bosa (hip and oblique) questionable for the game.
How has Ricky Pearsall performed this season?
It was expected at the start of the season that Ricky Pearsall would not be needed by the San Francisco 49ers to make a big difference in his rookie campaign. However, with Deebo Samuel struggling and Brandon Aiyuk suffering from a knee injury, it now appears like the team needs the rookie wideout to start showing why he was the 31st overall pick.
Pearsall will have to perform well in the season's last games as San Francisco tries to make a last-ditch run for a postseason berth.
Ricky Pearsall has only caught 12 passes for 137 yards and one touchdown thus far. To put his numbers in perspective, Pearsall, the sixth wide receiver selected in the 2024 draft, is the only one of the top nine receivers selected in April to have not reached 350 receiving yards this season.
